British Ticket-Holder Secures £26 Million Euro Millions Prize
An individual British participant has claimed the £26m EuroMillions jackpot, lottery officials have verified.
The winning numbers picked on the Friday draw were 06, 12, 18, 25 and 41, with the Bonus numbers 02 and 06.
This marks the third European lottery top prize secured in the UK this year out of 10 held so far.
In January, one ticket-holder won eighty-three million pounds, subsequently a £65 million Valentine's win. Each victor chose to remain anonymous.
Yet, the successful player of last Saturday's £10.6 million Lotto top prize has still not appeared.
A senior winners' adviser urged participants to spend some time to review their numbers and online notifications.
The lucky Lotto combination for the Saturday draw were: 06, 08, 12, 33, 49, 59 and the bonus number was 42.
"We are available to give advice and provide professional advisors who can assist victors maximize the win for them and their loved ones," the official stated.
The EuroMillions win will be validated against the game's terms and conditions, and once approved, the winner will decide whether to reveal their identity.
Despite making them a multi-millionaire, the Friday jackpot of £26m does not place the victor among EuroMillions' largest-ever prize recipients.
A win of above 183 million pounds would have been necessary to secure a place in the premier rankings of largest wins.
The biggest prize won by a British participant is £195m in two years ago, based on data from the lottery.
While it is hard to secure a jackpot, it is easier than many think to fail to claim it.
An individual failed to claim a £1m prize last year after missing the deadline for a EuroMillions win within the 180-day claim period, meaning the cash was instead donated to good causes supported by the lottery.
The biggest EuroMillions jackpot to remain unclaimed in the United Kingdom was £63.8m in the summer of 2012.
The EuroMillions draw is held every Tuesday and Friday evening across multiple European states.
