The England manager Criticizes Wembley Crowd Support Following Dominant Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel shared his regret that the Three Lions team did not get more encouragement from the Wembley fans during their commanding friendly win against Wales on Thursday night.

Tuchel was happy to see his squad maintain their good form, with goals from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Saka inside the initial stages effectively ending the match. However, he was not content with the energy at the national stadium.

“We had limited training days to prepare against a well-trained team and we did very well,” the coach commented. “It could have been 5-0 up at the break. We missed the additional goals. There was little noise. We didn’t get any energy back from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you give in the first quarter? We didn’t let them escape. When you only hear just the Welsh supporters for half an hour, it’s sad because the squad earned better encouragement today.”

“I stand by this statement. We cannot do more than being 3-0 in a derby. I would have wished for a bit more backing in periods where it becomes tough.”

“In the second half, to support us, there was excessive support for Wales. It might have aided us to recharge, but that’s football and that is it.”

Selection Choices Vindicated by Display

Away from risking a fight with supporters, the manager also created controversy by excluding Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. However the choice was justified by Morgan Rogers excelling in the attacking midfield role and getting his maiden goal for his country.

“That’s his style,” the head coach said. “He is a No 10 and he is competing for his spot.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Improvement from Loss

The Wales manager expressed hope that Wales, who host Belgium in a crucial World Cup qualifier on next week, improve after their awful first-half display.

“This is why I wanted this game,” the manager stated. “I wanted to assess where we are. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? Today fills me with drive.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Watkins was withdrawn at half-time after colliding with a goalpost and will be a doubt when England play Latvia in Riga in a qualifier on Tuesday.
